Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Current State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate #070 as a school psychologist
OR
- Current State of Connecticut School Social Work Certificate #071
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to professionally and effectively communicate with students, educators, parents, and community stakeholders
- Patient demeanor with the ability to relate to, empathize with, and show compassion for a variety of personalities
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon students' style of learning
- Experience in behavior management and ability to manage uncooperative behaviors
- Experience with students displaying social/emotional/behavioral needs
Essential Skills, Knowledge Performance Abilities
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff
- Knowledge of Planning and Placement Team processes
- Experience with conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting test results
- Strong communication skills to articulate programming needs and progress to students, families and school personnel
- Expertise in identifying counseling needs and in the facilitation of high quality counseling services to individual students and on a small group basis
Additional Duties
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services and/or the Building Administrator

- Monday - Thursday 8:
45am - 11:
45am - Staff should be available for the full program period
