Watertown, CTA Manufacturing Engineer job is available with our client in Watertown, CT.
This is a full-time direct hire opportunity.
In this role you will be responsible to design, develop and install components of engineering projects resulting in cost effective methods of manufacturing and fair and equitable manufacturing operating standards.
To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and 3-8 years of relevant experience.
Manufacturing Engineer Job Duties:
Assists in planning and coordinating the manufacturing process.
Capable of writing Work Instructions.
Able to participate in work area layouts.
Able to produce spaghetti diagrams and process flow charts.
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION /
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and 3-8 years of relevant experience.
Must possess multilevel experience in CNC machining, forging, casting, sheet metal fabrication, punch press operation, progressive tool design, transfer press operation, deep drawing stainless steel, heat treating, automation of secondary machining operations with emphasis on tapping, thread rolling, and thread locking operations, as well as automation of assembly operations.
Sufficient machining skills to produce prototypes and tooling.
Proficiency in using SolidWorks is required.
Fastener industry background with knowledge of military aerospace standards is desirable.
